What an awesome first day of my trip:
Today it seemed like everything just fell in place. From leaving at 4:20AM and arriving at the convention center at 11, I made awesome time driving down to LA. That is the best time I’ve made on that drive, a 6 hours and 40 min! I got my pass to E3 in a mater of minutes and was all done with the reservations for the hotel and parking garage. At 2 I plan on going to stand in line to be an audience member for The Late, Late Show with Craig Fergison, but I have like 2 hours to kill. I call up my friend Seth that lives in LA to see if he wanted to chill. He was at work but gets off at 1. I offer to come with me to see the taping at CBS studios, and guess what… he freaking works there! Seth and I went out to lunch and then didn’t have to wait in the line or anything. Right up to the front, front row, awesome! Craig was hella funny, but the “warm up”comedian was really, really bad haha.
After that I come back to the hotel and start talking to people in the lobby. Just about everyone that is at this hotel is going to E3! I started talking to a group of people that run an awesome website named pixelatedgeek.com . One thing leads to another and I end up at an E3 after/pre party. I know, me of all people, at a bar in LA at an after party. haha, I don’t think it has sunk in all the way yet. The party was good, It was basically 99% nerds, then 1% females… but what did you really expect?
Now off to take a shower, and finally sleep. I think I’ve been up for at least 24 hours in the past 26 hours…
P.S. I didn’t take any pictures, even though I was in the convention center. I didn’t know if I could yet and I didn’t want to get kicked out before the thing starts!
